College Prospects Showcases Recap
Yale Showcase
The 11th Annual Donovan Tennis Strategies College Prospects Showcase was held July 5-7, 2011 at the Yale University Tennis Center in New Haven, CT. A total of 80 boys and 80 girls from 25 states and 6 foreign countries were selected from over 225 applicants. Players ranked as high as #28 nationally on tennisrecruiting.net and top 200 ITF got invaluable exposure to an array of college coaches. Players were divided into teams and competed in a team dual-match format that included both singles and doubles play. Coaches representing 141 college programs (74 women's and 67 men's) attended the event. In addition to our usual impressive list of schools whose coaches attend each year, we welcomed for the first time coaches from the University of Notre Dame and Northwestern University on the men's side and Ohio State University, Davidson College and William & Mary on the women's side. Coaches were provided a profile on each participant; including the player's contact information, grades, test scores, ranking history, and a picture.
In addition to the matches players and parents participated in a Q&A session with a panel of men's and women's coaches from all three NCAA divisions. There was an addition presentation from the assistant dean of admissions at Tufts University, who outlined the academic side of the equation and discussed what admissions departments look for from recruited athletes.

California Showcase
The 7th Annual DTS Southern California Showcase was held January 7th and 8th at the Claremont Colleges in Claremont, CA. The event started with a question and answer session for parents. A small panel of college coaches representing Division I, II and III and NAIA programs, including Adam Steinberg, men's head coach at Pepperdine University, Sandy Kriezel, head women's coach at Cal State LA, Steve Gachko, head men's and women's coach at Stevens Tech, Ben Belletto, men's coach at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Kathy LeSage, head women's tennis coach at Westmont College was assembled to field questions about the recruiting process.
Matches began after the introduction of players and coaches. A total of 32 boys and 20 girls from throughout the United States and 3 foreign countries participated. Players were divided into teams and competed in both singles and doubles. Coaches representing 32 college programs attended the event. Each coach was provided a profile on the participants; including the player's contact information, grades, test scores and ranking history.
Day two started with a presentation by Adam Miller, Assistant Dean of Admission at Claremont McKenna College, who provided insights into college admissions procedures and gave valuable advice to players and parents.
